New construction of a waterfront single family estate in a coastal flood plain.

Designed to be highly resilient to environmental conditions, the architecture of the Fiske project features a contemporary reinterpretation of neoclassical typologies, with a rhythmic grid of columns and piers across the front of the structure designed in a warm, neutral palette of Alaskan Yellow Cedar siding and red cedar shingle roofing.

“Their expertise and attention to detail resulted in a thoughtful bespoke design that is both refined and functional and perfectly suited to us.”

The interiors feature a floating staircase with custom railings and hardware.

The board-formed concrete elements add a tactile, sculptural anchor to the predominantly wood home.  Walls of glass create a conservatory-like central living space, highlighting the expansive water views on approach and from within.

Elevated on a concrete plinth to meet FEMA regulations for this sensitive wetland site, the Fiske project is a testament to accomplishing uncompromising design in the face of logistical challenges; a resilient, environmentally responsive design with intricate, bespoke design solutions.
