Program: 2200 sf, 2 bedroom, 3.5 bath, single-family townhouse

This renovation project joined two separate apartments into one larger townhome transforming a cluster of out-of-date, segmented spaces into one spacious, contemporary single-family home. On the primary floor, four separate rooms and circulation spaces were combined into one central living space centered around a large contemporary kitchen. Antiquated infrastructure was replaced by a contemporary core of utilities and storage concealed behind large slab door cabinetry.

The kitchen features an expansive island that houses steam and induction cooking, a cleaning station, and clothes-washing appliances, all concealed behind monolithic white quartz slabs. On the second floor, four small bedrooms and one bath were combined to provide two expansive bedrooms with ensuite baths. Contemporary function and architectural detailing within this near two-hundred-year-old, mixed-use building improved function and livability for a contemporary family within the character of a historic building and community.
